Age 66 of St. Paul, MN 

Stephen grew up in the Como Park neighborhood of St. Paul.  He was preceded in death by his parents Gordie and Kay Kaufmann and sister-in-law Janet Kaufmann.  He is survived by his wife Sharyl, brother Ray Jr., brother-in-law Vern Johnson and many cousins and friends.  Stephen attended Murray High School where he played football, hockey and ran track.  He began working in Transportation, which led to a career in Safety and Compliance.  On October 13, 1990 Stephen married the love of his life, Sharyl Johnson. Stephen was a classic car enthusiast and loved racing cars, fishing, shooting at the gun range, spending time with his cousins and was a loyal MN Twins fan.  He also loved helping in the kitchen as Sharyl’s sous chef and even volunteered cooking at the VA Hospital Fisher House.  We would like to thank his many friends and neighbors who he referred to as “The Dream Team”.  Also, many thanks to the MN Oncology Team and Abbott Northwestern Hospital for their compassionate and amazing care.  Memorial Service 11AM Saturday, May 14, at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave. N., with visitation beginning at 10AM.  In memory of Stephen, please feel free to wear your favorite plaid or flannel shirt.  Private Interment at Roselawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice.
