Of Roseville

Passed away on October 13th, 2021. Preceded in death by parents Roland and Velma (Valsvik) Nelson, and husband Gene. Survived by children, David and Alexandra (James) Hawksford; grandchildren, Sam and Ronan Auck and their mother, Kathleen Foster, Joshua and Jacob Hawksford; and loving nieces, nephews, and friends. After graduating from the U of M, she followed her passion for art and entered the field of education where she was an art teacher with the St. Paul Public Schools and where she met her husband of 47 years. They built a beautiful home in Roseville where they raised their children surrounded by wonderful neighbors and friends. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, her artistic flair shown brightest when she was celebrating personal milestones and holidays. Above all, she loved her family and made certain that everyone who entered her home was welcomed and well fed. Her generous spirit touched the lives of many people and her absence will be profound. A gathering will be held from 4 – 6 PM, Thursday, October 21^st at O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 8700 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury.
